Sabine Valley District Association 22nd Annual Youth Congress

Sabine Valley District Association 22nd Annual Youth Congress will be held at Reed Chapel and True Vine Baptist Churches Monday, June 10th through Thursday, June 13th at 4:00 p.m. each evening. The theme for the event will be “Making the World Better.”

There will be five different age groups. Group 1 will be ages three through 1st grade with Sis. Jada White and Sis. Stadriana Watts; Group 2 will be 2nd through 4th grade with Sis. Wylma Hewett and Sis. Lakesha Holman; Group 3 will be 5th through 8th grade with Sis. Lajada Johnson and Sis. Mary Ann Renfro; Group 4 will be 9th through 12 grade with Sis. Marchandra Boyer and Group 5 will be a certified class with young adults ages 19 through 40 with Rev. Mike Jenkins.

Each day an opening will be held at 4:00 p.m., class period will be held from 4:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and seminars will be held from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Monday, June 10th Seminars are Group 1&2 - sing along with the BARRY-TONES, Group 3 – Resilience: Light in Darkness with Sis. Natasha Mosby, Group 4 – Dangers of Tobacco and Vaping Bingo with Sis. Elwanda Limbrick with Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council (ADAC).

Tuesday, June 11th Seminars are Group 1&2 – Anti-Bullying with Sis. Elwanda Limbrick- ADAC and Group 3&4 Anti-Bullying with Sis. Natasha Mosby.

Wednesday, June 12th Seminars are Group1&2 – Superheroes Don’t Smoke with Leo The Lion and Sis. Elwanda Limbrick of ADAC, Group 3 - True Love Waits with Sis. LaRenda Watts for teen girls and Bro. George Hick for teen boys and Group 4 - Resilence: Light in Darkness with Sis. Natasha Mosby. At 7:30 p.m. ollowing seminars the youth will convene at Taylor Tabernacle for Youth Hour with music from the Dr. L.R. Bullock Mass Choir and President’s Address by Sis. Kyla Clifton with the Dean’ Address to follow by Dr. Daniel Holman of New Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Thursday, June 13th Seminars are Group 1&2 – Everyday Heroes, San Augustine EMS, Fire, Police and Sheriff Departments and Game Warden, Group 3 Dangers of Tobacco/Vaping Bingo with Sis. Elwanda Limbrick – ADAC and Group 4 True Love Waits with Sis. LaRenda Watts and Bro. George Hicks. At 7:30 p.m. following seminars the youth will convene at Taylor Tabernacle for the President’s Address by Rev. David Mosby of St. Matthew Baptist Church.
