Funeral services for Jasper Patton Cox, aged 2, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Leon Manchack officiating. He passed away on September 7, 2024, in Milam, Texas. Born on October 10, 2021, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, he was the beloved son of Nicholas Greer and Arieanna Cox. Visitation for Jasper will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas. Burial will follow at Bud Hippler Cemetery, 9456 Texas Hwy, Many, Louisiana.
Jasper was a joyful child who cherished the outdoors, especially fishing. His fascination with bull-riding videos, tractors, big trucks, and dinosaurs brought immense joy and laughter to all who knew him. A loving brother, Jasper adored his sibling, Lee'Vie Slaughter, sharing precious moments that will be forever cherished by his family.
He is survived by his mother, Arieanna and stepfather, Logan Slaughter, of Milam; his father, Nicholas Greer of Converse, Louisiana; his brother Lee'Vie, all of Milam; grandparents Frank Cox of Zwolle, Ceji Cox and fiancé Cody Hutto of Ebarb, Louisiana, and Shane and Constance Slaughter of Many, Louisiana. He also leaves behind his great-grandparents, Dennis and Cindy Reeves of Many, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply.
Jasper and his family attended Sold Out for Christ Ministries, where they found a community of faith and support.
Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas, is handling the arrangements. Jasper's short but impactful life will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he touched.
