The Reed Chapel Missionary Baptist Church would like to cordially invite you, your friends, and family to join us as we congratulate, celebrate, and honor Dr. and Sis Amos L. Horton, Sr. for 25 years of devoted service to the Reed Chapel Church family and to the community of San Augustine at large. Commemoration for this Man and woman of God will begin with a Pre-Anniversary Gala on Saturday September 28, 2024 at the Pineywood Outreach Center,  255 Haley Drive in Center, Texas starting at 6:00 pm that evening.  The keynote speaker for the evening will be Dr. William R. (Randy) Ricks, Pastor of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Lufkin. The Prodigal Sons of East Texas will be the musical guest. Tickets are available for this formal event and you can reserve your spot by contacting Sharonda Davis at (936)201-7922. Individual(s) is $25 and a table (8) is $200.
On Sunday October 6, 2024 at 3:00 pm, the celebration will continue at the Reed Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 302 Ironosa Road here in San Augustine, Texas. The Bishop Charles E. Horton and the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Coldspring, Texas will be our esteem guest. More details to come on the anniversary service.

LOCAL FIRST RESPONDERS HONORED - Pictured above are some of the local First Responders who were honored during the Glenda Harrison Memorial 9/11 Remembrance event which was held on September 11th in the San Augustine District Courtroom. GUEST SPEAKERS - San Augustine Main Street was the program speakers for the luncheon held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Main Street Director, Shelby Curtis gave an update on the Smithsonian Traveling Museum on Main Street exhibit, and Main Street Board member and “Windows Into History” project Chair, Ellen Reeder spoke about the interest the project has stirred in the surrounding communities as well as the Texas Historical Commission, who has invited her to speak about the project at their Annual Convention next April.
