Pearl Joyce Tanner Johnson was born December 30, 1944, in San Augustine County, Texas, to Willie Mae and John Henry Moore. She departed this life on July 5, 2025, at Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview, Texas.
She was baptized into the Sunset Church of Christ. On July 23, 1992, Pearl married Bro. Willie L. Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Bro. Willie L. Johnson of San Augustine, Texas; sons, Cedric Tanner (Angel) of San Antonio, Texas, and Deric Tanner (Ladrethea) of Forney, Texas; daughters, Breeka Johnson of Longview, Texas, Jacquelyn Johnson of Arlington, Texas, Chiquita Hamilton of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Brenda Johnson of San Augustine, Texas, Velva Tanner of San Augustine, Texas, Archie Johnson of San Augustine, Texas, LaNease Culbertson (Roland) of Houston, Texas, Eleanor Moore of Lufkin, Texas, Sammie Kay Thweatt (John) of Disputanta, Virginia, Zella McCoy (Jerry) of Houston, Texas, and Didric Lathan (Kimble) of Center, Texas; brothers, Franklin Moore (Charlene) of Petersburg, Virginia, Charles Moore of Lufkin, Texas, and Kenneth Moore (Lakeshia) of Mesquite, Texas; one special auntie by marriage, Ozell Garrett; sister-in-law, Mamie Lister (Vernon Sr.) of Killeen, Texas; brother-in-law, Johnnie Johnson (Berniece) of Center, Texas; grandchildren, Toya Ford (Sean) of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Tayhlor Crenshaw of Dallas, Texas, Deric Rhodes of Richmond, Virginia, DeVontee Tanner of Greensboro, North Carolina, Jasmine Tanner of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Javian Ford of Arlington, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Landon Ford and Miles Ford.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas. Interment will follow at Haley Bush Cemetery in Bland Lake, Texas.
